Army Ranger medics saved lives by taking fresh blood from uninjured soldiers during a firefight in Afghanistan
Army Rangers pinned down in a firefight in Afghanistan’s Wardak province last summer used a new medical technique to transfer blood directly from one soldier to a wounded one. The Ranger O Low Titre Program (ROLO) was developed a few years ago, and with it two medics were able to save lives the night of the raid.
